The Rama Table Lamp is the outcome of an exciting collaboration between Marty @ Thornton Studio & Mr Ralph.

These glorious recycled NZ native Rimu Table Lamps are hand turned in sunny Cambridge, NZ. Because they are recycled and from natural hard wood, the finish/colour of them can vary, depending on whether the wood is from the heart of the tree or not. They also feature the occasional mark or indent where old nails may have been used during its history. We think this all adds to them being completely custom and special.
The timber used to make these beautiful pieces comes from locally sourced demolition timber. These have been bearers from the sub-floor framing of Classic Waikato homes. Each piece of timber has its own characteristics, and the subtle colour changes and grain provides its own unique beauty. Though all attempts have been made to make each table lamp dimensionally accurate, their handmade nature means they are not all exact as you would get from a machine created product. They are finished with a satin varnish.
About Marty: Marty is such a craftsperson; he loves working with wood and we are very privileged to be collaborating with him. Marty makes these stunning pendants and Table lamps at home on his trusty Lathe, usually with his beautiful GSP baby, Apollo, sitting underneath and getting wood clippings on his head! These designs are just the beginning of what we hope to achieve together.

Timeless, Relaxed, Neutral, Traditional
The classic/traditional vibe is the most conservative style at Mr Ralph. It suits a reserved aesthetic and homes that convey a timeless interior. Often the palette will be neutral in tones and may even follow a popular style like coastal or country. It is a look suited to new builds and renovated character homes. The Classic style focuses on symmetry and order. The Mr Ralph twist is an elevated sense of simplicity and a quiet elegance without the twee.
